Social Media has its ups and downs just like everything else in the
world. Our daily lives are greatly impacted by social media because we are
engulfed in all the activity that goes on. It has become an important part of
everyday living. For example, when I wake up in the morning the first thing I
check are my social medias accounts such as Instagram, Facebook, and Snapchat
because I always feel the need to keep up with whatever that is going in the
“social media world”. The Internet & Social media has become this great
outlet for people to express their selves. YouTube is a great resource that
people have used to express their personality and also to let out their
thoughts. People interact with one another and create and build “Internet
friendships”. I mean who knows you might find your best friend or your life
partner on the Internet. I have heard stories of how people become YouTube
buddies and actually become best friends in real life. Although they might
leave across the country from each other they fly out to visit each other. Some
people have also built relationships that led to marriage through social media
sites like Instagram. Who knew that you could potentially find your soul mate on
a social media website. In this day and age finding and creating relationships
is so different. There are numerous dating websites online for you to meet
someone to have a relationship with. I have a friend that met her husband on Instagram.
They started off by liking each other Instagram pics and then started to
communicate in the Instagram direct messages, things happened so fast and they
connected so well that she was flying across the country to see where the
relationship was going to go. She started working and settled herself in the
new city and later on they got married. There are so many negative aspects of
social media but there are also some positive ones like finding love.
You are 100% right in everything you have written. The only thing that I would recommend for your future blogs will be to re-read it. You have a few grammar mistakes which made your blog a bit weak. Overall, it is true that there are positive aspects of online relationships that people do not really take into consideration. Great topic.
ReplyDeleteWell, I met my girlfriend on Facebook, but I don't know if it's fair to say that we had an 'internet relationship' since we ended up meeting irl after only a couple weeks. I think that as the internet expands, our relationships forged online become more important. It is definitely the future of socialization.
